Penguins!

Amazing animals live in the Antarctic regions of the world.  They happen to be Penguins!!  Penguins are very unique animals because they live in the most coldest part of the world.  The reason they are able to live on these cold areas is because they have very stiff feathers to trap in heat.  The black and white feathers on the penguin have nothing to do with weather. They have to do with protection against predators.  When a penguin swims in the water and there is a predator under them, they wouldn't notice because the penguins white tummy blends in with the sun of the surface of water.  When a predator is flying above the penguin, while the penguin is in the water, the penguins black back blends in with the bottom of the waters ground.  Penguins are very unique animals and they do a very good job at living in a cold area of the Antarctic.

Recycle your Recycleables

The video we had watch Monday made me very mad that people seem to not care what they are doing to animals when they throw away there trash.  I mean I don't even recycle my items at home, but when I am out in public I do recycle my recycleables.  I also make sure that my family does too.
When I seen how many bottle caps birds have consumed it makes me not want to drink water bottles, but to buy the metal water bottles so I don't have to waste perfect plastic.  I think all of us in the United States should have to recycle those items that can be recycled and if there is food particles that can decompose in the ground then we should bury those food particles in the gound.  This change will help us make the United States a better place.  We also shouldn't litter. Police officers should crack down more on those who litter because a lot of birds and squirrels mistake our trash for food.  They then consume it and we become like murders because we killed innocent little creatures that just wanted to live.

Response to Video

I thought that this video told a lot about how most people in the army, navy, marines and the airforce feel when they come back home from Iraq and how they would rather us ask them how they are feeling.  My cousin has been in the marines but he was not deployed to Iraq.  He seems to be doing okay though. I wonder sometimes if he wishes that he could change his mind about being a marine.

If I was in the same position as James Miller I think I would probably feel the same way that he does.  I would be changed after spending just one second in Iraq.  Killing someone who doesn't have the same rights as you and your job is to take their life.  I couldn't deal with that everyday of my life.  I think that I would face the same problems and questions:  Why am I not dead and got to come back home?

I think he needs to maybe think of times when he felt as though what he did was not good.  Maybe he should go into a program wherehe could talk with other veterans that have been to Iraq.  And they all can share there stories to one another.  They can see if they have the same feelings like James Miller.
