Lemonade Mouth!!!

There is a movie that came out at the end of August on Disney Channel called Lemonade Mouth. That movie was very inspiring. It's about five students who meet in detention.  Their school is surrounded by a good sports program. While in detention each student learns that they all have a great gift of music.  One girl, Stella, doesn't like how the school is ran by the sports people.  So she convinces the four other students, Olivia, Mono, Charlie and Wen to join her in a revolution to show that their needs to be other programs at her school and to win Rising Star, a music contest.  In the end the don't win Rising Star due to several problems that each individual has.  But, they do start a revolution on uplifting songs about being strong and proud.

A song that I really enjoyed hearing was Somebody.  Olivia sings this song and it shows to me that she wants people to like her for her. She also shoes that you need to try and put all the talent you have out there.  You weren't made to just stand in the background and be invisible. I feel as though every person could relate to this song because there is always that one thing you hold inside because you scared the world will judge you for it.  That may be true but you just have to hold your head up and set those people straight and show them that you can be SOMEBODY!

Endof Sophomore Year :)

It came so quickly, the end of sophomore year is here! As much as I'm excited to be a junior I'm definitely going to miss those seniors I got very close too.  I will also miss those sophomore's who are going to the South-Western Career Academy(SWCA). Yes, they will still be apart of Franklin Heights but, they won't be in the classrooms with us. Another thing I will miss is all the amazing Sweetb16 parties I was invited to.

One thing I am looking forward to in this new year as a junior is that I will be able to finally. Now if I get a car to drive to and from school is a different story.  Most likely I will still walk to school or take the bus seeing how gas has been like four dollars.  Another thing I'm looking forward to is that I will be considered an upperclassmen and our junior class will be fighting the senior class at quest games.

Many people would say that they would also be looking forward to prom.  I really want to wait until I'm a senior to experience the last dance of my senior and to go all out with the dress, limo and dinner.  I plan on just having a good time the next two years. Yes, I will still focus on my studies and college but it is definitely time for a new beginnig into the world.

SEC

Very recently, as of two days ago to be exact, I became very interested in the sport of softball.  My family and I were out to dinner at Texas Road House and they had the SEC's playing on the television. The SEC is the softball championship for colleges.  So anyway, it occurred to me that there wasn't a national softball team and then a whole new topic of conversation came up...

I asked my mom and dad why they didn't have a national softball team and neither of them knew why.  Many have said that the world has gotten better in the aspect of equal rights for men and women. That may be true but it isn't to the equal stand point yet.  Men have all these sports that are national. For example, NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB. Women on the other hand have a main sport that barely anyone watches and that is the WNBA. I believe that if we change the way sports are looked at among men and women then it will change the way society views us females.

This heated discussion about the difference between men and women treatment all started from softball.  If something as simple as softball can start a tyrant between different genders imagine what other topics could.  Next  time you think about equal rights make sure you know what is equal between men and women and what isn't.

Narwhals !!!

A Narwhal is a toothed whale that lives in the Arctic. Just like most animals the male Narwhal has a horn on its head to attract the female Nawhal's. The Narwhal feeds off of flatfish at depths of about 1500 meters under dense ice.  People in Northern Canada and Greenland hunt the Narwhal for its ivory and meat.  These creatures are endangered of being threatened.  The horn on a Narwhal comes out of the upper jaw, it is rare for the males to get two horns but it is possible.  The study of a Narwhal is Etymology.  These creatures are a favorite of many who think they are extinct. We should do our best to help these creatures and enjoy what they offer. Rareness.

Specialties

I've been told that I am very weird.  I like penguins and the color purple.  Some have said that I am obsessed with them.  I disagree, I considered it more to be a passion.  I also am in many sports, cheer dance and track. Yes I have a full packed life but I manage through.  Times get tough and like any teenage girl I have break downs.  I do enjoy all that I do and wouldn't change it for the world.

I know when I get older that I will be less active and work more but I'm ready for that next challenge in my life.  College.  I really want to go to Syracuse in New York because I love the art that is at that college. Theres much more to me than people think but thats for those who are much closer to me.

Tribute

I wanted to give tribute to my grandad.  He passed away March 20, 2011.  He was a very good man.  He encouraged everyone he knew to do better.  He always gave me money when I did good in school.  My grandad me be gone but he still is in my heart and I will always try and do my best to make him proud in haven.  The fact that hurts me the most is that I didn't even get to say goodbye to him and that it wont be the same when we have Easter dinner with out him there.  I will always miss how he wraps me up in his arms in a gentle but firm hug.  I really miss my grandad and I hope he Rest In Peace.

Lost Boys

We watched a video in class about the Lost Boys. It was very sad to know that boys of all ages were basically kicked out of there house to go find somewhere better to live.  If I were a mom and my son would get killed for staying behind I would have him leave because I would want what is best for him.

The Lost Boys stride to freedom was a long one.  Many died from starvation.  Some were eaten by crocodiles and lions.  In the end however the freedom they received was much greater than what they were used to.

If I were a Lost Boy I would be sad at first that I would never see my parents again but happy that my life would get better as time progressed.

Tsunami

The earthquake in Japan caused a tsunami after which was very disaterous.  If I was in Japan I would be very scared.  I think us as citizens should help those in Japan cause if we were in the situation they were in we would want them to help us out.  As time goes on we should try to help them regain the land and houses they have lost.  I have a friend whose dad lived in Japan and he is okay but he was in the airport as the earthquake happened.  She told me that he is on his way home and I pray for her and her family everyday.

Next time you think about family and problems you may want to think of those in Japan who have maybe the same problem but a little worse/

OH Egypt !

View Image   In the new lately they have mentioned about the protest happening in Cairo. I think protesting is good but I would still go to work.  The fact that they now do not have a person ruling chaos will begin to erupt.  The military stated that Egypt might become a democratic country meaning that a vote will take place just like in the United States.  I feel as though Mubarak should've waited to step down until the people voted to see who they wanted to rule them.

If i lived in Cairo I most likely would protest with them if I worked.  People say protesting doesn't work in many cases but so far it has done a good deed to the people of Egypt.  They have almost achieved there goal of better wages for work and better conditions.  I think we as the United States should support them in their time in protest and help them along the way get things to be better in there country.

Life !

Life.  I been through a lot in my 16 years of living.  My mom said it can only get better from here one day when I had gotten into some trouble.  I will always remember her saying that cause at that point in my life I was in to deep.  Now I'm starting to see the light, but lately people who are supposed to be there for me have dug me deeper.  I am almost to the point of letting them go as friends because they obviously haven't figured out that I'm done with all the bull.
This morning my dad and I were talking about college and I made the comment "I can't wait to get out of Ohio."  He asked me why I was ready to leave so bad and I told him it was because there is nothing in Ohio that is making me become a better person.  He then told me that I haven't seen all of Ohio to know that.  He's right, but I feel like when it's time for me to go off to college I wont feel trapped and have all the problems that I have had.
I already know what I am going to do with my life.  I'm going to go to New York or California for interior designing then go for business management.  I don't plan on getting married very early or having kids.  When I get out on my own I want to do things for me and not have to worry about how everybody else is feeling.  That may sound harsh, but I haven't had time to myself since I was in elementary school.
I titled this blog life because life is something you only get once so live it like you'll die tomorrow.

Another Planet

Another Planet is a new song by Jawan Harris featuring Chris Brown.  The song is talking about how Jawan is on another planet pretty much saying that has more swagger than any one.  I like this song because it has a good base line and the lyrics are catchy.  Also it is kid appropiate and not sexual like most songs these days.  It also has a tecchno pattern of music.  My style of music has changed a lot through out the new year.  I think if you are into hip hop, techno, or a good base line you should check Another Planet out and even look for the video.

Dah-De-Dah

Music is a great way to express yourself.  Many people that the media seems to portray like pop music.  Sometimes people separate themselves with others because of the different music they listen too.  For example, my friends and I mostly listen to hip-hop and rap.  I know several people who actually hate hip-hop music and I never really understood why.
I try to listen to different genres of music.  I actually like some pop, rock, and metal because they relate to my life in a way.  My all time favorite artist though is R&B singer Trey Songz.  Many people think of his songs as being sexually only and some of them are.  There are some songs that do express the pain that he fells and all of it comes out in his latest album Passion, Pain & Pleasure.  One song that has captivated me is Unfortunate.
Unfortunate talks about, in my own words, someone that has taken advantage of you and realizes how much they need you in the long run.  But you don't want to go through the pain that they caused you so your telling them how unfortunate it is that realized at the wrong moment that you needed them.
There is also another song that I really liked over the past year.  The song is Deuces by Chris Brown.  The song pretty much represents the fact that sometime you just need to say peace to someone that has caused you pain and move on with you life.
Last year these songs came in great way for me to express myself.  I think everyone should express themselves in a way meaning most to them.
