Lemonade Mouth!!!

There is a movie that came out at the end of August on Disney Channel called Lemonade Mouth. That movie was very inspiring. It's about five students who meet in detention.  Their school is surrounded by a good sports program. While in detention each student learns that they all have a great gift of music.  One girl, Stella, doesn't like how the school is ran by the sports people.  So she convinces the four other students, Olivia, Mono, Charlie and Wen to join her in a revolution to show that their needs to be other programs at her school and to win Rising Star, a music contest.  In the end the don't win Rising Star due to several problems that each individual has.  But, they do start a revolution on uplifting songs about being strong and proud.

A song that I really enjoyed hearing was Somebody.  Olivia sings this song and it shows to me that she wants people to like her for her. She also shoes that you need to try and put all the talent you have out there.  You weren't made to just stand in the background and be invisible. I feel as though every person could relate to this song because there is always that one thing you hold inside because you scared the world will judge you for it.  That may be true but you just have to hold your head up and set those people straight and show them that you can be SOMEBODY!

Endof Sophomore Year :)

It came so quickly, the end of sophomore year is here! As much as I'm excited to be a junior I'm definitely going to miss those seniors I got very close too.  I will also miss those sophomore's who are going to the South-Western Career Academy(SWCA). Yes, they will still be apart of Franklin Heights but, they won't be in the classrooms with us. Another thing I will miss is all the amazing Sweetb16 parties I was invited to.

One thing I am looking forward to in this new year as a junior is that I will be able to finally. Now if I get a car to drive to and from school is a different story.  Most likely I will still walk to school or take the bus seeing how gas has been like four dollars.  Another thing I'm looking forward to is that I will be considered an upperclassmen and our junior class will be fighting the senior class at quest games.

Many people would say that they would also be looking forward to prom.  I really want to wait until I'm a senior to experience the last dance of my senior and to go all out with the dress, limo and dinner.  I plan on just having a good time the next two years. Yes, I will still focus on my studies and college but it is definitely time for a new beginnig into the world.

SEC

Very recently, as of two days ago to be exact, I became very interested in the sport of softball.  My family and I were out to dinner at Texas Road House and they had the SEC's playing on the television. The SEC is the softball championship for colleges.  So anyway, it occurred to me that there wasn't a national softball team and then a whole new topic of conversation came up...

I asked my mom and dad why they didn't have a national softball team and neither of them knew why.  Many have said that the world has gotten better in the aspect of equal rights for men and women. That may be true but it isn't to the equal stand point yet.  Men have all these sports that are national. For example, NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB. Women on the other hand have a main sport that barely anyone watches and that is the WNBA. I believe that if we change the way sports are looked at among men and women then it will change the way society views us females.

This heated discussion about the difference between men and women treatment all started from softball.  If something as simple as softball can start a tyrant between different genders imagine what other topics could.  Next  time you think about equal rights make sure you know what is equal between men and women and what isn't.
